Miranda & Amado acted as the United Kingdom’s Peruvian legal advisers in the Government-to-Government agreement for the Reconstruction of the North

As it is known, the United Kingdom was selected after a rigorous Government-to-Government process initiated by the Executive Branch through the Authority for Reconstruction with Changes (ARCC) and which was continued during the health emergency by COVID-19.

The Government to Government agreement between Peru and the United Kingdom was signed on June 22nd and was headed by the President of Peru, Martín Vizcarra. The video message from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson was also revealed at the ceremony.

The agreement aims at a new stage of reconstruction in the north of the country, affected by the El Niño phenomenon in 2017 and will require an investment of approximately 7,000 million soles, which will benefit nine regions: Tumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, Cajamarca, Lima, Ancash, La Libertad, Ica and Huancavelica.

The scope of the agreements signed includes advice and technical assistance in the construction of integral solutions for the management of rivers, streams, storm drains, as well as in the reconstruction of health facilities and schools.

We are proud to have acted as the United Kingdom’s Peruvian legal advisers in the Government-to-Government agreement for the Reconstruction of the North.

Our team led by José Daniel Amado and Enrique Felices, partners of Miranda & Amado, advised the Government of the United Kingdom, in the review of the proposal and documentation submitted to the Government of Peru.

We are honored to have provided legal advice on such an important project for the development of the country.
