Alberto leads Miranda & Amado’s Mining and Environmental practice. His work focuses on advising mining companies investing in Peru, covering corporate transactions as well as project financing related to natural resources. His experience also includes advising oil and gas companies and private equity investors in the forestry and agribusiness industries. With a background as a corporate lawyer, he also advises on general commercial matters, including mergers and acquisitions across various sectors. He joined Miranda & Amado in 2002 as an Associate and became a Partner in 2008. From 2007 to 2008 he worked as an Associate in the Finance Group at Mayer Brown’s London office, where he participated in the financing of mining projects in Spain, Mexico and Finland. Previously, he was an Associate at Estudio Grau (1998–2002). He holds a Law degree from Universidad de Lima and a Master of Laws from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy at the University of Dundee, Scotland. Since 2010 he has taught Mining Law at Universidad de Piura and in 2007 he taught Investment and Project Financing of Natural Resources at the Graduate Program in Natural Resources Law at Universidad de Lima. His native language is Spanish and he speaks fluent English.
