Airport services company Talma has announced it has acquired Ecuadorian Company Generalair, which will allow it to expand its activities in that country, where it has been operating since 2017. As a result of the deal, Talma will provide airport cargo service from the city of Guayaquil. The acquisition, the value of which was not disclosed, has already been authorized by Ecuador’s antitrust watchdog SCPM.
GenerailAir reported revenues of US$1.7 million in 2021, while Talma's revenues in Ecuador were US$17 million in 2021.
Talma celebrates 30 years of operations in 2022, having begun its internationalization process in Mexico in 2010, and when it also acquired Aeropuertos del Perú (AdP), which is currently in charge of passenger and cargo operations at 20 airports in Peru, including Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima. In 2019, Talma expanded into Colombia.
