Miranda & Amado and Pérez-Llorca announce their merger to create the leading law firm in Ibero-America

  • By uniting Miranda & Amado's local market leadership with Pérez-Llorca's international platform, the merger bolsters the firm's capabilities in major transactions, financings, and both domestic and cross-border disputes.
  • Once combined, the firm will bring together nearly 1,300 professionals across its global offices, with a prominent presence in Mexico, Colombia and Peru.
  • Completion of the merger is anticipated within the coming weeks, pending approval from the governing bodies of both firms.

Miranda & Amado and Pérez-Llorca have entered into an agreement for full legal and economic integration, to create the leading law firm in Ibero-America. This is an unprecedented milestone in the Peruvian market: the first full merger between a leading local firm and a top-tier Ibero-American practice.

Completion of the merger is anticipated within the coming weeks, once the relevant approvals have been obtained from the governing bodies of both firms.

A platform spanning Ibero-America

With the addition of the approximately 240 professionals from Miranda & Amado, Pérez-Llorca will have a team of nearly 1,300 professionals globally and close to 700 people in Latin America, solidifying a footprint across Mexico, Colombia and Peru that positions the firm as the partner of choice for major international companies, investment banks and financial sponsors with interests in the region.

The two teams' complementary strengths will equip the merged firm to provide the same calibre of advice on local transactions and on investment flows into Peru from the United States, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, while further positioning it as a key participant in the most significant international disputes linked to Ibero-American jurisdictions. The partners at Miranda & Amado will join the governing bodies of Pérez-Llorca and take on leadership roles in key international practice areas.

First-class credentials and recognition

Both firms have built outstanding track records, as recognised by the principal international legal directories: 50 Band 1 and 2 rankings in Chambers & Partners and 61 Tier 1 and 2 rankings in Legal 500. Miranda & Amado was awarded the Chambers & Partners Client Service Award Peru 2026 and is listed as an Elite firm in the Latin Lawyer 250, a distinction it shares with Pérez-Llorca Mexico and Pérez-Llorca Colombia.

Project Scala: an Ibero-American vision

This merger forms part of Project Scala, Pérez-Llorca’s initiative to build an integrated Ibero-American firm, underpinned by harmonised service standards and a coordinated advisory capability for cross-border transactions. After completing mergers in Mexico (2024) and Colombia (2025), Peru represents a natural consolidation of the firm's presence across Latin America.

The integrated firm will offer advice on Spanish, Portuguese, European, Mexican, Colombian and Peruvian law from its offices in Barcelona, Bogota, Brussels, Lima, Lisbon, London, Madrid, Mexico City, Medellin, Monterrey, New York and Singapore. A new Abu Dhabi office is set to open during 2026, serving Middle Eastern investors in their operations across the Iberian Peninsula and the Americas.
