Pedro's professional practice focuses on legal advisory in the energy and infrastructure sector, project development and financing, regulation, and conflict resolution. He specializes in the operational and market aspects of the electricity sector. Additionally, he advises companies on the development, financing, and execution of energy and infrastructure projects, such as transmission, distribution, and power generation projects, including greenfield projects using conventional technologies (hydroelectric and thermoelectric) and renewable energy resources, natural gas (transportation and distribution through pipelines), and hydrocarbons (upstream). He has experience in M&A of projects and/or companies and/or operating assets, as well as in obtaining licenses, permits, authorizations, concessions, and registrations for electricity and hydrocarbon activities, and in negotiating and drafting Power Purchase Agreements (PPA). He has participated in conflict resolution and arbitration between companies in the electricity and hydrocarbons sub-sector and infrastructure. He joined the firm as an Associate in 2013. Previously, he worked as an advisor at the Economic Operation Committee of the National Interconnected System – COES SINAC (2012 – 2013), at Delmar & Ugarte Abogados (2010 – 2012), and at Laub & Quijandría Consultores y Abogados (2008 – 2010). Pedro holds a law degree from the Universidad de San Martín de Porres. He has a Diploma of Specialization in wholesale electricity markets, level II, from the Latin American Energy Organization – OLADE (2013), an International Postgraduate Degree in Energy Management from Universidad ESAN, and a Specialization in Energy Law from the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC). His native language is Spanish, and he is fluent in English.
