Miranda & Amado advises JCDecaux group in the acquisition of leading billboards company
Miranda & Amado advised JCDecaux group in the acquisition of 70% of Eye Catcher Media S.A.C, leading advertising company in shopping centers and public transportation in Peru. With this acquisition, closed on August 25th, 2015, JCDecaux seeks to expand its presence in Peru and the region, after the concession they were granted for the integral monitoring of the internal and external advertising of the Jorge Chávez International Airport – which includes digital screens and interactive monitors – took effect at the beginning of the year.
According to partner Nathalie Paredes, “the course and rapidness of the parties’ negotiations as well as the simultaneous signing and closing of this deal required our team members to work in parallel on the due diligence and drafting the share purchase and related agreements. This deal required from our team significant understanding of a business with a legal framework that is rapidly developing not only in Peru but regionally.”
Now JCDecaux adds to their operations the advertising services that Eye Catcher Media S.A.C provides in twelve airports in the Northern part of the country, in the main shopping centers of Peru and in the Lima Metro, with over 3,500 billboards currently. The team that participated in this deal was formed by partners José Daniel Amado, Nathalie Paredes and Rocío Liu, and associates María Pía Talavera, Joyce Moore, Javier García and Luis Miguel Sánchez.
